Homeschooling does take lots of time, and it will likely cut down on the amount of personal time you have. This can be a con, but it's a price I'm willing to pay. Is the character development of your child important to you? It sure is to us! A smart child with poor character will use his knowledge selfishly and may end up harming others. It seems that many discussions about homeschooling will inevitably bring up the question of social disadvantages of homeschooling. If I teach my child at home, won't he become a social misfit?
